Darren Wilson Biography
In 1975 I was accepted into O’Dea High School, an all boys catholic high school in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood. I was a varsity starting quarterback, a running-back, and defensive back. Our team finished third in state my senior year, which was in 1978. In 1979 I was accepted into the University of Washington based on my academics. I walked on in 1979, as a wide receiver and a kickoff returner. Throughout my five years at the UW, I played in five bowl games; One Sun Bowl, Two Rose Bowls, and Two Aloha Bowls. We were PAC10 Champions in 80 and 81. Fast forward 20 years: I am now the premier Red Hat for the NFL, PAC12 Conference, MLS, and MLB. I contract with Root Sports, Fox Sports, Fox One, CBS Sports, and ESPN.
The Grasshopper Show
Grasshopper was my nickname as a walk on wide receiver for the University of Washington Football team in 1979. My teammate, Mark Lee gave me the nickname ‘Grasshopper’ because I ran routes and nobody could see who the quarterback was throwing the ball to, and I would jump (like a grasshopper) to catch the pass and gain extra yards.
